30th Annual St John the Evangelist Invitational Tournament
Welcome to the 30th Year of Madness!
Whether this is your first year with us or your 30th - thank you for coming out to support our young student-athletes and our school. For three decades now, we've been hosting this end-of-year celebration of sportsmanship and competitive spirit, and we're looking forward to another year of memoriesand fun.
We also know that you'll join us in rooting first for an atmosphere of respect and Christian ideals, where our players can enjoy the competition and learn from the proper examples of all of the adult parents and fans.
We're especially excited this year to dedicate our anniversary tournament to three generous people who played key roles in the founding of the tournament back in1980. Sister Martha Mulligan - now the principal at Mercymount Country Day School in Cumberland - was the principal who's active support allowed our tournament to thrive in its early years. Tom Houle - then an SJE parent -- was the founder and tireless director of the tournament at that same time. And Dave Barbour has been a volunteer referee and coordinator of officials - quietly making sure this key job gets done so well - for all 30 years of our event.
Our thanks go out to them for the vision and passion and hard work that they've so generously provided-and in Dave's case, still provide -- to our school.
